Value? DWM Commercial Army 1 of 450
I have a 1913/14 DWM Commercial/ Army serial 69934. It's apparently one of 450 or so made. Jan Still had #69911 that I was interested in buying, but it sold immediately. Seeing his got me looking around to try to find a value and there simply haven't been any recent sales. So, how do I value mine? I see the recent Rock Island sales of some of Jan Still's collection. Collectibility, I assume, is based on scarcity. So his Commercial Krieghoff (1 of 200) with 2 matching mags fetched $38,188. Certainly a rarity and priced as such. Second highest was a 1 of 1500 Bulgarian 1906 at $22,325. In very high condition for pistols of that contract but in similar condition to my Commercial/ Army. A 1/1000 1900 American Eagle US Army test w/ holster sold for $18,800. And a 1902 Prussian Army test 1/50 sold for $16,450. An incredibly nice Commercial Krieghoff with 1 matching mag 1/200 sold for $12,925 and seemed a bargain compared to the similar one from the same series. A 1908 Bulgarian Luger 1/10,000 in lower condition sold for $5,288. I assume these numbers are without buyer premium or sales tax. Pics of mine:

Would need to see more pictures, but the import mark on the left side will be a detriment to value for many though.

A reasonable valuation would be in the neighborhood of $4,5400. You would be lucky to get that if you tried to sell.

I agree with Dwight...I have #69879 in the same configuration and markings as yours that I have placed a value of $4500 on it in my inventory.
Ron P.S. HerrKaiser, what import mark? I don't see any. There are at least 3 variations of the C/X C/X C/X marked Lugers that were routed from commercial production to military use during the build up in armament during late 1913 to early 1914.

Ron, first pic, left frame, directly above take down lever, "GERMANY" is what I believe HerrKaiser is referring to. Need to enlarge pic to see it.

Yes it was that Germany stamp that I was referring to. Unless I am mistaken and that one has a specific meaning on a gun like this one as a commercial military?

Got a better pic of the "Germany" mark?
And to others, how much, if any, would the 'Germany' mark decrease the value vs an example like this without the 'Germany' mark? |

For a gun in the condition of this one, I would say $50-$100 if you were being really picky. The gun is a very nicely preserved example that ended being sold on the commercial market which required the GERMANY stamp.

even more pics!
What are your thoughts on the finish in the right side where I'm pointing? Was that from when the slide stop was added?
