1937 HK on Gun Broker
http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/Vie...?Item=14690167
No affiliation to seller, blah, blah, blah... Just wondered why no bidders?

Several guesses, Tim: (1) Many Forum members with HK interest are away at this holiday time, (2) The final price and reserve price are probably near or over $4000...no money left after Christmas!, (3)The side plate is ajar, note the middle photo...could be a defective gun!! Just WAG's on my part.

I know the seller. He's a good egg and would not knowingly offer bogus stuff for sale without so noting.

Hi George. Was not aiming to slur the seller, but note that the side plate is not engaged into the frame. It usually is very hard to close the locking lever when this is the case. I hope that no damage was done to this pristine looking apparently original HK.

Hey Tim and Doc...!
It's a damned nice 1937!!! Go to the auction - and click on the sellers picture page. It appears that the sideplate was mis-mounted for a few of the photos - but I suspect nothing happened to the finish at all... In looking at the photos - everything is there, and properly proofed. The MAG looks correct in proof and numbering as well. The only small thing that I can pick up is the the seller description of the rear sight being a "U", and as noted in the photo. It should be a "V", but I've seen several rear sights with a "U" - and have no idea who made the mod... The "thumb-print" is there as well - but not the reflected area - look are the darker tone AROUND the reflected area - that is the "thumb-print", which is evident (you can also note the hardening on the toggle ramps at the frame)). With the proper matched mag and based on condition - this one will probably ring in at, or over, the $3900+ bell at auction... |
