134 r.m.g. 167
Hello everyone,
Klaus 3338 provided the following info regarding the grip strip marking on my DWM 1915 Luger. I thought I'd share with everyone here. it was a Saxon regiment: (10. Saxon) Infantry Regiment No. 134 mashine gun company (weapon/ Luger) 167. The regiment was stationed in Plauen and part of the 19. (2. Saxon) Army Corps. It got the M.G.K. in 1914 or even later. Your Luger saw action on the Western front: Ypres, Flanders, Verdun (in 1917) and Somme. Many thanks to Klaus for his knowledge and support. Not sure why title shows lowercase, but stamping is all uppercase letters: 134 R.M.G. 167 Jim Miles |
