For sure.
Any that I have are rare and more valuable. Seriously, there are not a lot of unit marked artillery lugers, and they always attract attention. Some markings would be scarce or rarer than others, however, the value is always in the eye of the buyer or seller.

I am sure there are units for which there are few surviving examples of Lugers marked to that unit, but whether that makes them more rare or valuable is hard to say. As Don indicated it pretty much depends on the desires of the owner/buyer. For instance, I have a Garde Grenadier marked First Issue Luger that I have never seen another, but I am not sure that makes it particularly rare or valuable.

The rarest unit mark I have ever seen on a Luger was one marked by the Imperial Kaiser's personal guard - the Gardes du Corps.
That mark certainly would command a premium in my view... See below for a post with pictures of this extraordinary piece of history!

I remember in the late 50s and early 60s, some collectors turned up their noses at unit markings. I always liked them.

I agree with Eric, I think it’s adds character to the piece and who doesn’t like having a little more information about the history of their gun(s)?

I believe this is the one Marc mentioned above.
1910 DWM #3003c unit marked G.d.C.L.8. Garde du Corps Leib Eskadron Waffe # 8 It is all matching except mag. Hold open has been added. The Garde du Corps were considered the top elite of the Cavalry units, a virtual whos who of top imperial royal families. They were the personal body guard of the Kaiser, and his family. A very happy addition to our cavalry unit mark collection. John/ Mike |

I've always shied away from paying more for a Luger with a "special" marking, but that one would be an exception...

I was not sure if it was a "P" or I just wanted it to be.
