Hello guys,
I am very glad to show my collection of holsters. Starting from left: 1915 Artillery belt. 1915 pig skin AWM ΓΆ?? Eugen Huber Militar Effekten Munchen holster for LP08 with related pig skin magazine pouch. This is the only example I know of holster and pouch both marked with AWM acceptance mark and same producer (Eugen Huber). I guess a very rare rig!! 1915 LP08 holster made in Berlin (difficult to read the producer). 1915 Soft Pig Skin holster made by Mars (Berlin) in the 1915. Another interesting and rare holster that complete the pig skin collection. (Bought from Thorston some days ago) 1920 Heiser LP08 holster. A very interesting item. Not so easy to find today. A very rare WWI soft Turkish holster for LP08. This holster is very rare and it has been presented in several articles in French and in Italy. Further pictures are available in my updated web site: have a look. In the site it is also available a beautiful picture (Carousel of LP08) made by Paolo Petracco. The picture is visible in the first page (look at the applet that manages several photos) and also in the "Your LP08 pictures" link. In order to download correctly the new photos I suggest to clean the Internet cache memory. Enjoy your self and let me know your opinion. Ciao

Mauro,
I had a chance to see a vg condition HHHeiser holster for a 8" artillery for sale a few weeks back. It has the full closure flap...not the open style like yours. HHHeiser style number 435, as shown on page 571 on Bender's large book on luger holsters. The asking price was $ 600 USD. The only blemish I could see on the holster's leather was a small water (or oil) spot the size of a US quarter, near the trigger area of the holster... If you are interested, email me at "pebbink@pacbell.net" and I can give you the seller's contact info. I do not know if the piece is still available for sale, or not... Regards, Pete... |

Mauro,
nice set of artillery holsters. I have a few artillery Lugers with matching stocks and magazines but no holsters so I am always looking for these holsters with all the attaching leather and straps. They are ALL hard to find. Some are just harder to find than others. I currently have a 1916 Mars, black, hard shell, a 1916 a Richter, black, hard shell with a large "M" under the flap and a 1915 E.G.LEUMER with a large 77.A. under the flap. All the names are difficult to read due to age and wear. But the holsters are in reasonably good shape and have all the attaching leather and straps. None are for sale. Big Norm |

Mauro,
I would love to help you out but I am computer illiterate and don't have an access to a digital camera. All that I can tell you is that it has all the straps and stock attaching leather and that it is in pretty good shape (original stitching). I also have the rod and an unmarked tool. Get me an audience with the Pope and I will let you touch it. (Hee! Hee!) These holsters are that hard to find here in America. I have a 1915 artillery with the matching stock and magazine that I am keeping with that holster. All that took me a long time to put together to speak nothing of the negotiating that I had to do. My knees are still sore (ouch!). You could forget the Popes audience if you could find for me the matching stocks for the two 1914 DWM artilleries that I have matching mags for. Now that would be a real hard find. I think some more sore knees too. Big Norm |

Hello Big Norm,
even if I live not so far from the Pope I am not still able to do miracle! :-) So I guess you have to wait a long time before finding the stock for your 1914 Artilleries. As far as the Mars 1916 concerns, is it in pigskin or in normal leather? As you know during the 1915, Mars made a few LP08 pigskin holster that are very rare indeed. Let me know. Ciao Mauro

Mauro,
the holster is the standard, black, hard shell type. Too bad about the Pope, I could use His help with a miracle or two in some of my searches. In my collecting, I concentrated on the Lugers. Now I am looking a bite more for the accessories. I kick myself now at the things I passed on. Oh well, live and learn. If it was easy, it wouldn't be fun. Big Norm |
