1925 Simson Photos
I previously posted a request for information on a 1925 Simson Luger....I finally acquired the gun......here are some photos......Kidvett,a fellow collector here in Canada and myself spent a very interesting hour going over the unusual proofmarks and finish on the gun....it has almost a parkerised blue finish and appears to be an original gun.....it was also cut for the magazine safety, and came with a Robert Larsen Holster...any comments and feedback would be welcome....

Congratulations! Beautiful Rig, I would take it any old day. I really like the holster.

Now your not going to believe this...so neat, I have Number 460, and it has an undated chamber, and police sear safety. It is the only gun in the core of my collection that has been refinished, very well done, but I am not big on refinished Lugers, however the police type Simsons are hard to come by, it was offered right, and just last year at the Reno show Ralph Shattuck gave it a very positive $ appraisal....very nice!

Does your gun have the same proof marks as this one???....is your finish almost like parkerising??...I have a double date Police gun that has a very similar finish!!those are the only Lugers I have seen with this unusual bluing!! ....only 30 guns apart!!!....that is neat!!...

Peter, nice police gun!
The serials are awful close, but then the proofs / acceptance are a bit different. Very interesting to hear about the other two. I'd like pictures of yours PL and Russ <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Ed

Take the camera and after taking the pictures, hold the camera (backwards) to the monitor and press upload and it will automatically send them pictures to Johns server.
Trust me, I used to work for the gov't.

Ed...I took this Simson last year to the Reno show, kinds with my tail between my legs, was sure I over paid, Ralph wanted to put it on his list for 2K....I felt a lot better, as best as I can find, between 100/300 Simson's we police converted..

Maybe Police Luger should sell one of his Lugers and buy a new digital camera, one with Macro focus!
