Is everyone on vacation?
Nothing to say. ![]() I won an auction at RIA over the weekend, and in a few weeks will have a consecutive pair of 1900 lugers!

Don, were they a consecutive pair you bid on, or did you find one adjacent to your number?

refinished #7717. "New" one is original finish, #7718; at least that is what it is supposed to be!

Congratulations!
![]() I had already stated I was outbid on the auction I bid on even before the auction officially started, so maybe you could disclose just how you managed to snag a 1900 to complete a consecutive set???

it was "easy"; I just bid too much! ![]() Seriously, nothing really special about the "new" one, just a nice 1900, fairly early and close to the US trials, # 7718. Auction pictures didn't show serial, but that is what they "said" it was, so I do hope it is!

Congratulations and welcome to the club! Many years ago I lucked into a consecutive pair of 1900s. I bought the first one and less than two months later the second one popped up on Randy Bessler's list. The first one I got a pretty good deal on, the second one not so much so...but couldn't pass it up, particularly since they are Test Trials guns.
Can't wait to see photos of your pair! Ron

I'll do a spread when the second one arrives. RIA is not "fast" so it will be a couple weeks or more before I have it in hand.
![]() Here are the auction pictures of the "new" one.

I had my favorite weekend of the month: cleaning/maintenance of all my guns all afternoon (Lugers included)

I bought an M1 30 carbine shooter from a friend. Does that count? Ok, I know that doesn't.
Don, congrats, on your special Luger acquisition.

Not on vacation, but it's 114 today and the pool is more attractive than sitting on my computer.

![]() But I am taking Don's advice on this coming weekend's RIA Online-Only Auction...I bid $50 more than the Luger I looked at in the catalog! I did win a 1911 clone on GB this week, again going with Don's 'plan'...I bid $84 more and won!!! ![]() I also found out a bug in the GB bid system...The 15 minute rule...If you decide at the last minute [literally] to up your already-winning bid, it kicks the 15 minute extension in... ![]() I did that twice and unwittingly extended the auction a half hour past the posted end time...I gave any wimpy bidders two extra chances to outbid me... ![]() But in the end, I was only bidding against myself...And won... ![]() I hope the RIA auction is as easy...

Rich,
congrats on your "wins" and good luck at RIA! Yes, that pesky 15 min rule does kick in, if I want to raise my bid, I just do it at 16 min.
