Finaly chased down my 1929 W+F Swiss Bern. It has the full hold-open and red-grips. The inside of the frame is stamped with a 8.38 (August 1938) manufacturer date. Serial number places it at the transition between red and brown grips and also between half hold-open and full hold-open feature. This is really a nice Bern !

In my haste to post my photos, I neglected to say I got this nice 1929 Bern from Ralph Shattuck's WOL.
I had asked Ralph to find a nice 1929 Bern for me 2 months ago, and he did come through...! |
