I wouldn't touch this sideplate, or one that was anything like it..., as it appears to be a homemade attempt at creating a full auto Luger... the BATFE frowns upon owning such things... even just pieces are called "unregistered machineguns" and are accompanied by harsh penalties.

I would say it is an unsuccessful attempt. It would hold the transfer lever in, so the disconnector won't reset. I think that side plate would convert a Luger to a single-shot.
