I have two wood bottomed mags - no markings anywhere. One is nickel and other is same but finish is turning brown...? Are they basic commercial and what are values..?
I also have tool - straight winged eagle over 63. How common and what is value...? What are the other commonly seen markings on the Luger tools...? Tool came with holster stamped "STERN & Co" OFFENBACHAM 1915 - holster looks like a previous "police issue" and later modified to military use with buckle and strap - vet bring back. What is value and is it a keeper...? Regards, JMV375 |

A 1915 dated Luger holster would have been made for the Imperial Army. It was later during the Weimar period converted to a police style holster. At a later time [?] it was converted back to the military style. Impossible to provide an accurate value estimate of a holster without actually observing the holster's condition and markings. The stick eagle/63 marked Luger tool is fairly common. Other WW II tool markings are; SE/655, Droop eagle/63, SE/135, 42, and S/42. The SE/63 and the 42 come in different sizes. There are a couple of other fairly rare tool proof marks. Your unmarked wooden bottom Luger mags are most often commerical or they may have had their markings removed from military issue. Would have to see the mags to actually determine. Sorry not more help. Joe

Joe,
Thanks for the info. I will try and post photos to forum but send me your e-mail also and I will send you photos. Also on closer examination the tool may be a straight winged eagle over 83. Regards, Joe Viviano JMV375 |
