Ejector movement

I just installed a NOS straw ejector from Lugerdoc in my 1918 Erfurt, using the online video that is available as a guide. It went in well, but drags against the breechblock groove in which it fits as it goes past (held against it by the spring pressure of the part itself) , and recesses into the receiver approx .050 when it clears the breechblock. It does not drag against the receiver (I checked it before I installed the toggle), and moves in and out freely. Is this movement in and out normal (and the reason it is made like a leaf spring)? All my other firearms have fixed ejectors which clear the bolt/slide, and when replaced have to be fitted such that they do clear. I can't see any other way to do this but I figure that either this is normal or I missed a step in fitting the part to the gun. It ejects well just cycling it by hand, but this is the first gun I've ever had where the ejector flexes while the gun is cycled. I am an experienced shooter, but this is my first Luger. Any info would be very welcome.

The ejectors in my Lugers flex in when the toggle is back/up, and straighten out when the breechblock is forward/closed.

I don't understand anything else you described.

I think I know what you're talking about. There are two little pegs, one oblong, one round on the ejector, both of them have to be in their respective recesses, or the front of the ejector goes into the receiver a bit further.

Check to see if they're both in. The ejector should lay pretty much flat along the outside of the receiver. Sometimes they can be difficult to seat properly. A few I've had to hold the tip back from the inside, and use a dowel, (bamboo chop stick) to put enough pressure on to seat them. but yes, it should drag a little on the breech.

It sounds as though you installed it correctly,as this flexing is normal. TH
