When I open this page, the message at the top right hand corner says "You are not logged in. Login or register". No matter how many times I login, it still says the same. Is not the fact that I can post a message proof that I'm logged in? What am I doing wrong?

Tim, be sure your javascript and 'accept all cookies' is turned on in your browser preferences under the 'edit' command. If they are then go to the top of this page and click on 'my profile' and use the command to reset all Forum cookies. That should do it.

Cookies turned on, reset all cookies from my profile page... and NADA, ZIP, exactly the same as before... I don't lose any functionality by not being logged in, I even got a private message toay while not logged in, go figure.

Hi Tim..!

Sorry about the delayed reply..!!!

OK - Herb is right, but it sounds like you are all set with your Cookie settings. Also - if you are an IE user, please take a look at your "Privacy Settings", as anything higher then the "default" will block Cookies as well...

Now - I also have to tell you - something may be wrong with your browser messaging, since if you really aren't "Logged In" - you couldn't reply to (or even see!! these messages - as only users who are Logged in can view/reply to posts...

Sooooo - my guess it's the latter - and that you really are logged in..

Best to you!!!

Mozilla (1.0) build id:2002053012
I've logged in from a machine at work that runs Internet explorer and it worked just like it's supposed to. You may be correct in the browser theory, I just hate internet explorer.
If it makes no difference, except that the little red envelopes don't show new postings like this, I'll leave well enough alone. Everything works.

I'm logged in at my work machine this am and I get a header that says "Hello, Tim [log out]. I suspect this is what its supposed to say. I can live with it as it is. As for hating microsoft, I can only add a sig I've seen on another forum:

The day microsoft makes something that doesn't suck is the day they start building vacuum cleaners...

Thumbs up

I have tried them all!...Mosaic, Netscape, Neoplanet, Opera, Mozilla, HotJava, Arachne, etc., etc. This was because I thought that I did not care for Microsoft or IE. After using every browser that I could get my cyber-hands on, and seeing every type of pop-up advertisement appear on my screen, enduring bugs galore, system crashes, discontinue of product and no support, along with additional charges for upgrades, and many types of web development languages not supported, I decided that IE may not be such a bad piece of software. So, I stopped deciding to hate Microsoft IE and went onward to hating spyware, cookies, and animated gifs. (So glad that I did, as I have so many things to hate and not enough time to hate them all.)
