my friend has a luger his uncle removed from a warehouse while in germany during WWII they came upon a case of unissued lugers and split them up among the guys in his unit. im looking for a luger collectors forum or board to try to get a value on it. Its dated 1941 with the mauser banner all parts match including the magazine it appears unfired and in 99/.9% condtion grips are sharp and appear unhandled. it has 2 waffen stamps on on either side of the frame it also has a spare mag which has a wood bottom but no ser # the holster is black in color in exceelnt condition and marked Otto Sindel , Berlin 1942 on the back and has a mag loading tool as well. its probably by far the nicest luger i have ever seen looks like it was made yesterday and help or direction you could give would be appreciated thanks jim please email me directly if possible!

Jim,
It sounds like a "jewel" of a Luger! You have come to the right place to get a value for the pistol, but we need a little more information to be correct. the pistol sounds like a Police Banner and the holster definetly sounds like a Police holster. This will make a big difference in value over a Military rig. If you can got to the Techinical Information section of the Forum and find the Luger Identification Sheets and provide us with the Waffenamt stamps ID of all stamps. Just a normal Military Luger in this condition would be valued at approx. $2200-2300 in this perfect condition and the Police would be more and I would suspect it would be in the $2800 range and maybe even more. I hope some of the other Luger Gurus will help me on the value. Marvin |
