Post New Luger

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes. After owning pistols for over 30 years, I just bought my first Luger. It's a Mauser Parabellum 9 m/m 4". I think it's suppose to look like a Swiss 1903, with a grip safety, but then I don't know squat about Lugers. I got it in unfired condition (which I ended today!) in a raggedy box, 2 mags,, cleaning rod, but missing the loading tool.
I'm guessing it was made in the mid 70's. One of my friends, who is thinning his herd, sold it to me for $800. It shot well with the same cast bullet load that I use in my High Power.
How common are these and where do the figure in the grand sceme of Lugers? Was this a fair price? Where can I get a loading tool (my thumb is killing me!). Thanks in advance.

Maybe a bit high, but as new in box (NIB) condition, probably the price and for kalifornia, wellllll....

Welcome to the frat Mike!

There is a section just on these here, although this area is also acceptable!

Loading tools are sold on e-bay, BUT, an orginal will work better, I have found the repro ones suck, and bend! So, buy a DDR (east german) one or orginal Mauser 1970's one and you'll be happy.
