Hello guys,
please find here few photos of this interesting item. The Holzattrappe is a wood item used for holster maintenance. German Army officially used this item during both WWI and WWII. Right now, the only book that mention this item is the Gortz one. Gortz states that this item was used for holster maintenance and maybe for training purposes. The historical picture confirms the hypothesis about the training use of the Holzattrappe. Gortz's book pictures: <a href="http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holzattrappe-gortz.jpg" target="_blank"> http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holzattrappe-gortz.jpg[/URL] http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/...ppe-gortz1.jpg My pictures: http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holz1-int.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holz3-int.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holz4-int.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holz5-int.jpg http://boards.rennlist.com/lfupload/Holz6-int.jpg I have recently bought this interesting photo where it is possible to see a soldier with Holzattrappe. http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfuploa...hoto_copy1.jpg This is the only historical photo I have ever seen where this item is visible. It seems that it was also used for training purposes. In fact, in this photo there is a fight simulation. I guess it is interesting. Let em know... Ciao Mauro
