Post My 1916 LP08...

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not posting much over the past few months... during that time, I did however make another Luger purchase!

A really nice 1916 LP08!

Needless to say it's a DWM, serial number 3194a all matching, I've had my good friend Geroge Anderson look it over, and he assures me I got a good deal! I think he estimated it to be around 98%...

I'll post photos as soon as I figure out how to reduce the file size on these pictures!

Best Regards, Brandon

While you were gone #1 Dude, John D., did something cool, you can post the picture and instead of using [img] URL [/img] you put [thumb] url [/thumb] and it shrinks it for you!

Very cool trick!!

Or you can just make the image smaller,

Ed

Hello Brandon,

Very nice looking Arty...!!! Congratulations !!!

It looks like the left side proof on the breechblock is Erfurt stamped.

Is the right side barrel proof an Erfurt or DWM proof ?

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Here is a close-up of my 1918 DWM Artillery with a DWM barrel proof...know this has been a topic of discussion on another pistol forum...i.e. whether all Arty's have only Erfurt barrel proofs or not...

Added 7-22-03 : Another 1914 DWM LP-08 with DWM proofs, not Erfurt proofs...

Brandon,

In your right side frame photo, is there some sort of stamping in the right "ear" area ?

Or am I seeing something of digital distortion...?

Thanks for letting me know...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />

Pete,
I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by the "ear" area, describe where it is and I will be more than happy to look for you!

I apologize for my ignorance!

Hello Brandon,

I have cropped your photo to show the "ear" area...

Just curious what the "spot" is in the direct center of this photo...

I first thought it might be a British proof, but then there should be more on your gun; which it doesn't...

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
