Cool Gun Show Find

Went to the Houston Gun Show to set up tables today. Came home with a nice rig; 1939/42 all matching with one matching mag & one non matching but correct era and suffix, 1939 Hans Deuter Augsburg holster with E655 marked tool in the pouch. The seller said he just recently bought it from a vet and I had no reason to doubt him. Will post pics when I get the chance. <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Hello Hugh,

Excellent find...congratulations...

You pick up a rig in one afternoon outing and it takes me nearly a year to do so...

I am envious...

Cool

Thanks, guys I think I was really lucky to find this one before someone else did.

I also had a neighboring table renter show me his rare 1915 Erfurt! I must say it was an interesting gun. All matching numbers that appeared to be identical and original. The little Erfurt proof marks on all parts except for the bbl and receiver. I pointed out to him that there was a DWM eagle on the receiver rather than an Erfurt eagle, that the top of the receiver was lacking the little flat shelf on front, and that the bbl had no serial number. It also had a "beautiful" black salt reblue!

Come to find out that he had bought it from the son a dead "gun collector and gunsmith", who "liked to experiment with different things".

The present owner suspected that it wasn't "real", but was looking for confirmation of his "suspicions". We decided that it was an interesting shooter!
