K-Date Luger Wood Grip Marking

The only reason I post this is because I have never seen this stamped on a luger grip. The grip is off of a late suffix "a" K-Date luger. The grips may be replacements, they are numbered to the pistol. Could this be an armourer's stamp? Or will we ever know?
