I picked up this Luger at a auction the other day and have some Q's. I think its a E. German rework, Its all matching including the wood grips, new replacment mag. the brl. looks new and is not numbered to the pistol, only marking on it is a P and a smaller e&s, import marked, VEGA. SAC. CA. any info would be nice. Thanks, Paul S

Paul, VEGA is an importing branch of the Old Sacramento Armory in Cal. The "P" that you described under the barrel is probably part of PO8. It also should be marked "Germany" for the country of origin. If a new E.Ger rebarrel, there may also be a "Crown over N" marking. I don't know if VEGA actually imported any of the recent EG reworks, but I know that 15 years ago, they did bring in a large shipment from Norway. Tom H.
