my Swiss, which I purchased from Legacy, arrived today and I'm pleased as punch to add it to my (now 3) Luger collection
Legacy adverted the pistol thusly : "Beautiful Swiss Bern 1906/24 Luger Rig.....type : 06/24.....maker : Waffenfabrik Bern.....condition : 99%.....Bore : Mint.....Year : N/A (but I looked it up and found 1929) 3/6/25 This is a beautiful example of a Waffenfabrik - Bern 1906/24 Luger. All matching original with the proper Swiss proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with a Swiss leather shoulder holster (with shoulder strap), a proper Swiss bakelite-bottom magazine and a leather lanyard. The gun has retained nearly all it's finish with just the slightest hints of high edge wear. Minty Swiss-style wood Grips. Mint bore. (I have been advised that the magazine isn't the correct one for this pistol - is that correct ?) here are the pictures that hopefully will identify the pistol for your evaluation : |

The Swiss regularly factory refinished their lugers. That is why so many Swiss are in excellent shape. That and no war use. Bill

seems I can't post pictures with the computer I now use - dang, and I've got a lot of excellent pics to post.....oh well
my Wife did some on-line searching and found a website on which Swiss firearm' serial numbers can be "searched" and the result will be the build year - https://www.swisswaffen.com/.....this looks "valid" to me and it indicates that my new pistol's date is 1929 is everyone familiar with this site ? |

Your computer probably is blocking pop-ups.
This website forum uses a pop-up window to upload photos files. Sounds like you have a nice Swiss luger - hope you will share it with us. |

I do have a question.....my Swiss Luger came with a short (about 4") Leather "lanyard" attached - do you suppose that it was put there just to show where/how a lanyard would have been attached, or ?????
thank you |

No. This pull strap is fairly common on many Swiss lugers.

swiss holsters hold luger very tight. leather pull strap makes it easy to pull gun from holster.
