Was the stock lug ground off? My 1920's DWM in 30 caliber has stock lugs.

Major Tom, there was no stock lug. Look at the breech block and toggles. This seems to be a high condition model 1900 commercial. Though more pictures with more details of the proof markings will be needed to verify that.

Your Luger looks pretty high in condition from the photos.

Might have at least had the straw freshened... It appears in the pic that there's straw color on the worn portion of the takedown lever.

*edit* Later pics show it is worn to white. Must have been the reflected light...

Vesuvio, as HerrKaiser indicated above, that appears to be a very nice, very early commercial Luger produced at the beginning of the 20th century. It could be worth over $5000 depending on condition and original parts.

From the pictures, it seems that pistol has been at least partially restored/refinished at some point. I see pitting under the finish in areas. It is still a pretty pistol as the work was well done
. The early pistols are some of the most attractive of all in my opinion. John

The side plate (as looked at from the left side) is a replacement. The top left corner should not be rounded, but a sharp right angle.

A major "tell" would be to see a good closeup picture of the polished safety area.

I have found that commercial lugers sell for the least (in comparison) to most, a American eagle would sell for a bit more and faster.
The nicer the originality, the more expensive, but harder to sell, unless the right person is looking.

In the U.S. a straight commercial 1900 such as that posted is a hell of a lot more scarce than an American Eagle 1900.
