Just finished watching this 4 part series on the Stalingrad Campaign. What a meat grinder.
Army University Press presents the Battle of Stalingrad Film Series. These documentaries examine the fighting that took place in Stalingrad through the lens of current U.S. Army doctrine. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...Pro6YJQNvtdkPf

Thanks for posting, an interesting perspective and I'm going to make the time to watch.
I've just finished reading the 2015 revised edition of "When Titans Clashed" by retired US Colonels David Glantz and Jonathan House. Fascinating and compelling reading. Of the 2.5 million Axis and Red Army soldiers who fought the Stalingrad campaign, 1.3 million died! |

I just finished the first Army university produced "Stalingrad Overview" video.
Using animated tactical maps, it's forensic in it's approach to the strategy and tactics of the campaigns (both German and Russian). Quite interesting to see things play out over time. And yes... even now there are lessons learned since this may have been one of the first major urban battles.
