Default Grip markings- dot matrix and "A"

Hi

New P.08 BYF 41 owner and looking at some grip markings, I've not been able to google up straight away to ID. One has that dot matrix pattern and the other simply an "A". Hoping to identify what/when they are. Thanks greatly!

The "A" is a workers mark; the dots are probably used to obscure a previous marking.

Thank you.
interesting on the obscurration. Perhaps that grip went was used for a factory return refurbishment process at one time and they wanted to clear the old marking out.

or it could be just an imprint from a vise or other tool.

I've never seen another mark like that, and grip numbers were not commonly obscured.
I doubt it had anything to do with a factory return, grips were replaced in the field or re-used-without regard to the original numbers. JMHO.

Welcome to the board.

I think you solved the mystery. The opposite side of that grip has
some damage (looks like a backward 7) in the general area to be expected if that was the case.

Hmm unless a backwards 7 means something and this was intentional.
