Full sized with the weight approximating the real thing. Even the magazine has some decent weight to it. 10 round capacity.

Most of the parts actually interchange with the .45 version.
The barrel has a threaded muzzle, ready to accept an adaptor for a silencer.

GSG makes them under their own name and for Sig Sauer. Since Sig Sauer owns the Mauser name rights, production of a Mauser version was easy.

Does it use the Colt ACE type barrel with a floating chamber, or is it a straight blowback??

I have a GSG 922 model. It is the GSG 1911, but with a 3.6in. bbl. and no bushing like the full size model. Mine has the full size grip frame. It is a fun gun, but certainly not built with the same quality of metal of a Colt 1911.......and thus, the reduced $$ on purchase. I have run a fair amount of 22LR ammo through mine, and it really likes the CCI MiniMag ammo. Enjoy you new "toy".

Vlim,

Is this going to be a shooter for you, or just a "look and fondle" piece??

It will basically be an archive piece. I am maintaining and expanding an archival / reference collection of Mauser's exploits on the hand gun market, currently focusing on their post war adventures.

So anything new is sort of a treat. The last attempt dates from 2000, so it was about time

Perhaps some testing will be done, but there is enough data on the performance of the SGS 1911, so any attempts from my side will not generate much new data

It's a nice gun to have fun at the range without spending a fortune on ammo!
