I have found a DISA magazine here:
http://www.stewartsmilitaryantiques....sories.57.html It is down for now as i ordered it, but it will come up for sale again. The snag is that they only ship USPS and that means the parcel will go through the Danish postal service (as a bull services a cow!) and it will either get returned or destroyed as they wont handle anything remotely gun related. So is there a kind soul in the US that will order it and resend it UPS or Fedex to me? I will paypal you up front no worries. |

I've sent weapons parts to forum members in Europe with no problems; I've also received parts from Japan and Argentina, again no problems. I tried to be circumspect in my descriptions, and AFAIK my descriptions were accepted at face value.

I did get a huge hassle at sending two luger magazines to Georgia I think. Guy was a military officer for Russia or the like, and I had included a cheap take down tool and a small book, that delayed it. He had paid FedEx express service and since it was around x-mas took 3 weeks, then was bounced back and forth and then after 2 months it was sent back.
My point is, that any way to ship has potential issues... |

Yes it is item #41005
The problem is the Danish postal service, they want nothing to do with anything remotely gun related. I once tried to ship some 22 Hornet cases to Australia and they got as far as the airport and was promptly returned ($100 lesson learned!) UPS and Fedex do customs work in house so the parcel will never enter the hands of Danish post and thus are in no danger of getting returned. The problem is that most all mail entering Denmark from a non EU country gets screened by Danish Post and then they can recognise a magazine and it will get revoked. |

A few years ago, I ran across an Armslist ad for 40 magazines for the early Erma toggle pistols @ $10 ea. This would have been a great investment because they're worth more to shooters and collectors who have these guns. I tapped my IRA for the funds and was all set to go.
When the seller noticed that my address is NY State, he shut the whole deal down, in fear of being put on some sort of "list"merely for sending mags. I forwarded a link to the website put up by the State Police that outlines the provisions of NY's "S.A.F.E Act" which revealed no problem at all for him to complete the sale and ship, but he was apparently paranoid enough to still refuse. My contention was that first class mail is private and not opened by authorities, but this did not convince him, either. He insisted on a face-to-face transaction--in NC--which couldn't happen. My disappointment, beyond not being able to score the mags, centers around how fear and irrationality can combine in some people's minds to gum up the works. I just sent a bottle of the maple syrup I made this spring to a friend in Germany who has been helping me obtain other Erma NOS parts. Although my shipment arrived totally intact, he mentioned how customs had opened all three containers of syrup someone had sent to another of his friends there, and made a real mess. I have mailed Erma parts to buyers in Belgium and Denmark with no problem. I described them as "machined metal parts."

I've been off-line for a few days and missed this post. I know the Stewarts personally and could probably have solved this for you. Sorry to be a few days and a dollar late.

Not that I care, but each time you mail a "gun" part to Europe, you are violating one law, and maybe two.
I know it is silly, but when you also mis-label the part, you compound the criminality! If you read the fine print of the customs declaration you wil know what I mean. But like I said, do what you want to do.

They are fussy about the description because that is the basis for any customs duties, not accurately identifying it can be construed as an attempt to avoid correct payment. Gun parts are prohibited articles under the ITAR. You need a license to export them. Yes, I know this is all chicken manure, but either could be a problem if some officious person wants to make the proverbial "Federal Case" out of it. An ITAR violation can be an exceptionally big problem.
