I'm guessing the muzzle weights are attached to the frame. I can't see it cycling, otherwise.

This pistol is either a Herb Werle (Germany) or Hakan Spur (Sweden) creation... both have done some pretty spectacular and far out modifications to Lugers.

It may even be a .22lr mod.; otherwise Alanint is correct- it won't cycle- but maybe a single shot "parlor luger"?

That is one serious target Luger. A great deal of work has been done to that handgun. I would love to know how it shoots!!

You were right Rick! When I magnified the image it is clear that the top engraved word is "Werle"
Nice catch!

The pictured pistol really has Werle's name all over it. For the guys that follow/study the work of some of the custom gunsmiths, the pistol said who made it without the name tag; just the pistol's appearance suggested who made it.
A very gifted individual. Not all his work is for everyone, but the respect of expertise in making such is some common ground. As far it working, I do not think one would have too many worries about such. He has a lot experience with Lugers. Fairly innovative(understatement) smith, a trip to his shop would be...........quite enjoyable. |
