Default 1940/42

Just purchased my first WW2 luger. Want to know If I paid too much (or as the man said) bought it too early? 1100.00 plus vig. Last two numbers on fireing pin toggle pin and hold open. Grips have last two, plus S and small stick eagle with numbers below but too small for me to make out. @1/16 inch in dia. I figgered that if you can spend 1000.00 on a shootere I can't be in too deep!

also came with Schmeisser magazine W/arrow but no numbers.

I think you did well, too!
This is how it starts.

Good pictures, too!

With a scope or magnifying glass, maybe find the eagle is over 655. Nice acquisition.

I agree with the others Hugh, looks like it has the original finish, matching numbers and no unusual wear or damage, congrats.

Nice acquisition.
But now be careful, don't start collecting old Lugers... it's a sickness!

Excellent price! I paid roughly 50% more for a 40/42 that's not in as good of condition as yours!

Nice one Hugh! I think you'll be impressed by the precision of this Mauser made Luger.

I am new to the Luger world - but what I am seeing - you did really good ! The finish is great and the grips appear to be in great shape ! Congrats !! My first was a mixmaster 1939/42 and looks horrible - but has a lot of character and shoots great .
