I had a barrel taken off and new one put on by GT (
![]() We always hear about the slight variation in sizes, but remember that at one time the barrels were actually changed in length. Top is a 30 luger and has Crown N marking on it - sn 1783k Middle is the odd one, 9mm sn 4876 with an 8 just under the sn and in a line up, looks almost like Crown B and then Crown V Bottom is a Eagle 655, 9mm, 5859 (import marked) |

Ed,
The oddly marked barrel bears the British proofs characteristic of Vickers Lugers. That it is an odd length is very interesting indeed. The "8" under the serial number is actually the mysterious & mark which shows up unexpectedly in wildly divergent Luger places, primarily (but not exclusively) in this position on Vickers barrels. --Dwight |
