A few weeks ago, I was shown a 1916 DWM.
On the matching mag was carved "E" over top the serial and "W" below. Yesterday, I saw 1917 DWM with the exact same "E", "W" carving on the mag. Neither pistol had the usual EW<city Mark> (eg: EWB) on the grips. Is it possible that the EW carved on the mags was not a person's initials, but an "Einwohner" designation? Richard
