Hi all.
I'm new here, so forgive me if I make a fool of myself. I have had this luger for several years now; it was my sixteenth birthday present way back when. I would like to know a bit more about it. I tried to post some fairly clear pictures, but some of the lighting looks a little bad; for the most part I think everything should be distinguishable. My father bought it for about 300 bucks with the holster and the clips (none of which match, to the best of my knowledge). Interestingly enough I found an old pricetag in the holster for a company called Farwell Ozman Kirk (Farwell Arms Company), which may be relevant to everything, or perhaps just the holster. It is a 30 caliber. If anyone has any information on it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Can't say about the paper label but the holster is a military as are all 3 mags. The pistol is commercial.

Nice close ups, but really, the best might be, full left, full right and a full top.

I am guessing it has no date on it?

Unless it is a WW1 that was re-arsenaled (very possible) for commercial sales. It could also be a 1920 or 1921 new made and sold as a commercial sale.

Does it have 'germany' stamped anywhere on it?

The three magazines are WW2 era - yours would have come with a wood base mag

All the assorted small numbers and letters on the luger are called factory worker stamps and mean nothing. The small markings on the luger mags are acceptance markings.

Today, your military magazines and holster are worth about double what was originally paid for the entire kit.

The Luger looks like it was probably refinished at some point. I cannot see the normally found "halos" around the barrel serial number.

Do you have specific questions about what you have?

Try taking your pictures outdoors with indirect light and no flash. They will look more natural and provide more detail.

Looks like a nice commercial Luger to me. Congratulations on your way cool birthday present. The mags. and holster don't match the gun, and are worth quite a bit. Also one photo shows the letters "FXO". Are those on a magazine or are those stamped on the gun frame itself? I can't make that out in the photo.

FXO is on the mag, that is in the luger with the grip off

I attached a slightly better picture of the markings under the barrel. There does not appear to be any halos. I also attached some pictures of the whole sides without flash to get a better look at the finish.

Essentially I just wanted to know the worth, the year is was made, and whether or not it saw action.

If the letter under the number on the frame is a Q then it was made in 1927. The strawing looks odd. Its in very nice condition but the strawed parts look freshly brillo padded or something. Price wise if all original around a grand tops for just the pistol is what I would give you. Messed with in any way 500 or less depending on finish.
