I would like to know the value of a east german rework. The receiver is stamped 1914 and the toggle s/42. It appears to never have been used. It still has a lot of cosmoline on the outside and inside and is in very good condition.

Hi, Best to post this in the new collector's forum...
These VoPo pistols can vary quite a bit in price. A 1914 receiver would be from early WW-I era, and could be either a DWM or an Erfurt receiver. The toggle is from just before WW-II. It's most certain that the various parts of your Luger have been used. The appearance is probably due to refinishing. Some of these have a "dip" style refinish. You may find a variety of rework marks on your Luger. To estimate a value, you'll need to show us some pictures. As a good shooter: More than $500... Less than $800... Marc
