Default Ohio Lugersmith

I've been blessed to inherit a 1906 Luger. It does not appear to be functional. Is there anyone in Ohio (near Columbus preferrably) that I can take it to?

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a fellow in Sandusky that runs a small gunsmithing shop called Gunworks. He has a very good reputation locally and I've had him do work on several of my 1911's. I am going to call him tomorrow to see if he has any experience with Lugers as I need a barrel changed. If he tells me he does I will post.

what appears to be wrong with it?

And although this gentleman above sounds like he knows older guns, most gunsmiths don't know lugers very well

you might also call fgs/inc in portsmouth oh to see if they might have someone who could help you. they are sellers of lugers, but might have a local gunsmith they work with.

You might want Google Ohio Ordnance Works, they are in Chardon so just 2 hrs or so up I-75. A co-worker whos father owns a gunshop told about them, he says they do good work. I called and asked if they had experience with Lugers and was told they do.

Thanks for the tips. I don't believe I have the proper side plate for it. It's very difficult to put into place and when it is locked down, you can't pull the trigger.

It's a small world at times. I live outside Portsmouth, Oh and wasn't aware Gary sold Lugers anymore. Am I wrong and do you have any link? I don't see his ads in Shotgun News anymore.
