MrMan, You probably have a 1920 Commercial Luger (no date stamp) with the Crown N proof on teh front left side of the receiver. They are very common and normally are 30 Luger chambering, but a few in 9 mm. Measure the barrel by placing a pencil or small straight object into the barrel (making sure it is empty first) and pushing it in until it stops, mark the pencil or object, pull it out, and meauser, I would guess it would be 3 & 3/4", 3 & 7/8" or possibly 4".

These were commercial Lugers put together from WWI surplus Lugers and rebarreled and stamped with the crown N. The nice thing about these is the barrel is usually in excellent shap. By the way, under the serial number on the front of the frame should be a small (not capital letter) cursive letter that will indicate what production block your Luger was in. Many are in the i,k,l,m blocks! Good luck! Sorry there is no way to know where you Luger has been or who owned it! If they could only talk! ~Thor~

Dear Mr Man - at least you probably have a good idea of the previous owner [don't you?]. Beyond that...........
