Identify maker

Picked up a 1941 dated P08 marked holster. Hard to read the manufacturer name. Seems to be GE ***HOW & CO AG then berlin at the bottom 1941. WaA stamped and a nazi eagle.

Who made this? Any info?

Sounds like it was made for or by Gustav Genschow (=Geco) Berlin-Treptow. They were active from the late 1880s

I've got one of their .22 youth rifles made in the 1920s...

Owned by a Jewish family, it's assets were apparently taken over by the Nazi government in the late 1930s.

There is currently a company linked to the name. Details at:

I learned about GeCo when a co-worker told me his recently deceased uncle had left a rifle he'd brought back form WW-II...

I had visions of a K98....

What he brought me was a GeCo youth rifle - a .22 from the mid 1920s.

That lead to my research into Gustav Genschow...

Since, I've seen a couple of the Mauser action .22 rifles used in Germany for training, and would really enjoy finding one.

The Genschow was well made and a nice example of work from that era...

They are also a well known ammunition maker who pioneered defence loadings with the Geco BAT, (Blitz Action Trauma) round.

They are currently the official round of the World IPSC association.

You guys are good. Nice quality and good condition goes well with my u block 1941 matching byf which I have not posted here yet. Had it for 22 years. Traded a j frame 38 for it. Now a holster and 655 tool. What's left to go with my 41 byf?
