I have this old gun... a Luger P08??

I've been visiting this forum for a few weeks now and have finally decided to make a posting. I have what I believe to be a P08 made in 1939 with all matching parts and 42 stamped on the top. My question is, is this a shooter?

I understand that I have to make at least one post in order to post photographs. So as soon as the system will let me I'll put up some pictures.
