Default M II Holster

Acquired a 1920 commercial yesterday-came in a Portugese M II holster-looks like a short navy.

It has a rod with oiler and separate mag pouch-both black-decent shape showing age but sound. No discernable markings.

Question is are these desireable items? I would just as soon pass them to someone interested in them.

They are worthless, so you can just send it to me for use with my MII. Just kidding, but I might be interested in it for the right $$. I have one but it is not in the best condition. As far as value I would think $75-$100 or so for a nice one. I don't think they are as desireable as a German issue holster. Anyone feel free to correct me.

Hi Mike,

Very generous of you to make such an offer.

Typically a very good plus to excellent minus M2 holster will go for $150-175; add another hundred for an ORIGINAL oiler/rod-be careful, lots of fake oilers around. Add another $50-60 for the mag pouch.

You can do someone a favor and pocket about 33% of the price of a 1920 commercial-not bad!

Hope this helps,

Tom

Mike, I agree with Tom's valuations above, although I've seen minty M2 holsters sell for as much as $250 and I have a spare one in poor condition that I'd sell for $50 including S&H. There is some interest in these just for 4&3/4 barreled shooters, as they are one of the few made for this barrel lenght in any volume. I even had one of these that was German maker marked and 1920 dated inside. I guess that this maker continued to make them into the 1920s as commerical hosters. Tom h

Now that is a problem--this rig has been together for a long time and may in fact be original according to your in put. The rod/oiler is unmarked but has the same age look about it. I don't think there were ever any external marks on the leather and the inside is hard to tell. I gave a grand for this stuff with three orig-non matching wood mags

I might be tempted to part with the holster leather.

Thanks for the help gyz
