Re: Another Slow Day
Hugh,
your making me jealous. I gotta get a camera. I had my work done by Ken Karsted and he did a "New-in-Box" job on my 1916 navy. I bought the gun off of a guy I didn't like for $1300. When I got it back from Ken, I politely showed it to this guy just to rub his nose in it. It made my day.
After I read your post, I compared it to an original finish 1916 that I have. Trust me, I have a hard time choosing between the two. I was lucky that Ralph Shattuck introduced me to Ken.
I only hope that the Ohio Gun Collectors Assoc can work out something for the IX Center so I can show a 1908 navy to Ken. The 1908 had a buffing wheel turned loose on it. Its in that grey area for restoration. Ken is good, but sometimes there isn't anything that can be done.
