Default New gun site - collectables

Hello Everyone,

As one of the moderators on the luger forum I hesitated to post this, and beg your forgiveness if this seems inappropriate for me to announce this way. But to tell you the truth, I was unsure how to do so as we have many items that are interesting to this forum. I have talked to John Dunkle; the owner of the site and the moderators and posting an announcement was okay.

Tom Whiteman and Edward Tinker have started a new on-line collectables website;
www.legacy-collectables.com

We plan on buying and selling historical collectibles to include fine firearms; as that is our primary collecting interest.
We believe that we are unique in our business; we will offer a 10 day, no questions asked return of any item (minus shipping). We offer this guarantee because every item will be attested that it is original and as stated. Each firearm or item will be attested by an expert in that field of collectables and a statement signed by us will be included. A copy of the attestation check-sheet showing correct placement of serial numbers, proofs and markings can be included with each collectable.
We are always looking for collections, small (one or even two items) and large, 10, 15, 25, even a 100 firearms. We will buy the entire collection. Our primary purpose is to buy and sell extremely nice, correct and original firearms. We will evaluate the collection before we buy them from you, so you’ll know what it is, how much it’s worth and what we’ll pay.

We will also sell items for you for a 10% commission.

Ed, best of luck in this undertaking. How will you value a pistol? From photos we send you? In person? Would like to know for future use.

GREAT!! Never can have to many military stuff dealers. The problem lies in the ones you can 'TRUST'(not passing off repos as original and the like) and I know yours will be one to 'trust'. Looking forward to it.

In person for sure. For us to say that an item is original and not restored; we need to take it apart and look at every part. I have / am developing a checklist that we will use as we evaluate every piece. Right now, these guns are from a local collection and guns that Tom and I own.

However, we want the guns in hand to evaluate and send from our place of business, just as Simpson's or any other company.

If someone has one item, we can evaulate it, or 20 items, but to just give a value, i would expect we'd charge for it, just as all the dealers do.

Ed
pS: this was a good question, would like to paraphrase it on Jan's forum (ok I already di, hope that was ok)

Best of luck, it's great to have people you're familiar with to buy from. I'm hoping you'll cast your net wide and have the odd item for people like me who can't stretch to high end collectibles, but love the guns all the same !

Well Stu, I know our primary focus WW2 nice stuff, but you never know what you'll pick up. Looks like I'll be getting a 27-2 (6 inch blue .357) and a 10-5 (2 inch blue) that I'll have to do something with.
