I'always wanted a Navy, even mismatched if it be or well used so to say. Would someone look at Gunbroker auction # 145061045 and tell me if this is indeen a fairly complete Navy with a incorrect EUFURT toggle replacemant. Another question, seeing it is a Dbl. Date rework and the worn finish of the toggle seems to match the remainder of the Luger, could this toggle have been installed during the rework? and does all replaced parts during a rework get stamped/restamped to match the gun's S/N? I know this is in poor condition, but it's age and ware seem to speek to me.
Many thanks, Bill OOPS! Maybe I should have posted this in the Navy Forum, but you guys should know! |

The "1920" date stamping is awful sloppy...I bet even Alvin could do a better job of stamping those numbers...
![]() Date on the side of the front sight??? Double Crown/"M"... Scratches on the frame ears; tool marks not evident (old reblue?)... Nice patina... ![]() Last edited by sheepherder; 11-10-2009 at 09:27 AM. Reason: stoopid computer |

The 1920 stamp does not represent a rework. It was stamped to identify it as property of the state. There is no knowing when the Efrurt toggle was added, but the lack of armory or other marks (and the facrt that it retains its Navy barrel) suggest that it was not the result of any government refurbishment program.
Imho the starting price is not bad if you are interested in a dogged-out mostly-Navy shooter. --Dwight |
