C'mon Thor, when you get thru polishing all the pits out, Brad will have a scaled down , super thin, "concelment Luger"

what i do know is i bought it from check point charlies, apparently commercial mil proofed assigned to a motor carrier division.

it was just a tad rougher than i was expecting. and you really need to get your hands on this thing to see just how wretched it really is

The word "NEW" takes on an entirely different meaning when applied to this fine piece!

Default new Luger

Those are some awesome photos. The safety lever is quite amazing. It looks like it has been either melted or brass blobs of brazing. All in all, I would say that it is probably a lost cause. There are folks who would dispute this with me I am sure. Unfortunately, once the pitting gets to a certain depth it is futile to grind any more. I think that if you could take it down you could sandblast the individual parts and have a matte finish pistol. Wether it would ever function is another story. A rather gruesome picture. I don't think it will make Luger of the month but there are some anti gun people who would become aroused to see that in a fold-out format I believe. Since I love the beauty and grace of the Luger pistol I find the picture series quite disturbing. There should be a warning 'Caution the following pictures are graphic in nature.'

he said that there was almost no original finish remaining (actually the original finish is remaining everywhere that isn't pitted)

graffic...that's an understatement! like i said before if it wasn't a luger i wouldn't have even considered it! i haven't fired it (i'm crazy...not suicidal), but all the internal surfaces and rails are in good shape. i have detail stripped it, thej only problem is in doing so the sear spring broke and i can't get the rest of it to slide out. let's see a new barrel, safety lever, safety bar, all new springs, new ejector, a pound of welding rod, 6 months of work....it should be good as new (like i said.....i'm crazy)
