Full marks for your first attempt! You've done a good job! In fact with a little rearranging, that first photo could be a Luger of the Month!!!

...and make sure the parts are good polished (sandpaper and steel-wool) and free of any oil and fat!!! After polishing and degreasing DON'T touch them with your fingers!

...after strawing put the hot metal parts into some weapons oil!!!
