ACCEPTANCE STAMPS AND THEIR LOCATIONS ON MAUSER MILITARY (K date-42 date) LUGERS.
Mauser Military code (S/42, 42, byf) Lugers bear acceptance stamps on their right receiver, left barrel, and magazine bottom. (Note: not covered are acceptance stamps located on magazine sides and bottom of receiver lug). An old rule of thumb and observations, indicates that most often (or almost always) the first stamp (most to rear of Luger) located on the right receiver is also the stamp found on the left barrel and magazine bottom. I suspect (but do not know) that this rule of thumb does not always hold when there is a change from one stamp to another.
