The obtuse cocker

Guys -- My previous question is so far down I'm afraid you won't see it. My problem was I reassembled the slide and frame and it wouldn't ****. The replies I got were oriented toward connecting the linkage. I believe it was connected right because when I pulled back on it after assembly it snapped forward nicely. But the gun didn't ****. After a couplde of more reassemblies it would ****. What did I do different.
