Hi, I finally acquired my first luger, found a 1917 artillery with all serial matching. I'm looking for a good holster and rig replica because I don't want to spend a lot of money, can anyone point in the right direction?
Thanks! |

sure, do a search on teh forum for this subject.
Personally, I don't like reproductions, they are usually poorly made and very tight. ed |

If inexpensive and of reasonable quality is the object; Atlanta Cutlery offers a complete rig for $149;

Hello, I originally ordered one from Numrich that I promptly sent back. No way would the pistol ever fit inside the holster, the same for mags in the pouch. Of course the stock did not fit either, looked to be made of old crate wood. Did get my money back promptly. I then had heard about the CMR holsters being sold in the U.K. and was leary about dealing overseas in case of dissatisfaction. I E-mailed Mr. Roscoe and asked if he could actually test fit the holster and pouch he would send me as well as the stock.. He was very agreeable.. the holster and pouch arrived re-wrapped with ink marks on the wrap "FITTED" with initials. The stock however looked originally wrapped and wouldn't even begin to fit my LP08. I would have sent the stock back if CMR were in CONUS. The leather however was well worth the $99 price . Natural russet finish, well made with a perfect fit. It does have the belt loop and metal tag on the strap that the "EXPERTS" call a PAKI repro benchmark. I would highly recommend this holster, but not the stock if you want it to actually fit your pistol. The stock looks very good however. Best Regards!! JOE

Many repro stocks are made with an oversize loose fit so that they will go on any gun but aren't very satisfactory since they are so wobbly. Others, like the CMR, require a little fitting but will lock up tight when properly done. I bought some small curved files called "rifflers" that can get down into the groove of the stock iron for that little touchup fitting (it probably goes without saying, but fitting should never be attempted by filing down the stock lug on the gun!!!). Even original stocks are not always interchangeable and require fitting to a particular gun.

I have used the CMR leather, combined with my original Artillery stock for some shooting tests. The leather is of good quality, fit and finish is good enough, but it's a Persian replica not a replica of the WW1 leather.
The CMR rig without the metal plate and in a dark brown color would be nicer, though. |

I ordered two repro holsters from Numrich. The black std luger was well made, excellent leather and fitted perfectly. The red/brown artillery was poor leather, and too tight.
