Anyone else have one of these to go with your Luger?

This is from my Great Uncle. Also Have a Letter of Transfer from him.

And here is the Luger. Might not be the most valuable but I havent seen one Yet in better condition for sale thats for sure.

One interesting (?) point regarding German pistols -- on one hand, pistols were in big demand in general and they had to issue many subsitutes during the War. On another hand, many standard military pistols were stored somewhere unissued. This byf was probably captured in that condition from a storage place. Looks like unbalanced resource allocation was common at that time.

Where did he get this thing? Not from a captured German, correct?

Looks like a beautiful Mauser with bakelite grips and fxo magazines, and capture paper. Search on capture papers to find threads on capture papers.

Have capture papers on two Lugers....

He pulled it off of a captured German Officer in Italy.

My great uncle was in charge of starting to Rebuild the railroads so he may have been over there longer then most and that's why the capture papers are dated 1946

I have the holster also.

I'm trying to locate the belt with belt buckle that went with it.

I too am fortunate to have a set of capture papers (dated Dec. 1945) with my Luger , but along with these I also have a U.S. Army Unit Baggage tag that reads on the back: Accompanied Hold Baggage Unit. Then the owner's name, rank and the Luger's description and serial number. This is the first time I've seen one of these. Anyone else seen one or have one?
