Default Berlin Police DWM 1920...Questions

hey guys, first post! Hopin yall can help me out!

went to the local shop today, always wanted a luger, never could afford one... This is what i was lookin at...

1920 DWM Russian Capture mix master, black plastic grips with vertical ribs running from top to bottom. Marked as "Berlin Police" on tag.... How can i tell by the pistol?... Below trigger guard, on the metal between the grips there was some sort of writing, stamped..maybe even a date? anyone know of this? wasnt an import mark... Barrel was 4" im pretty sure, excellent bore.. nice and tight overall..

PRICE....749+tax...

Can someone give me some info on the Berlin police, grips, and the writing/stamping below the trigger guard? ...Obviously i know the "RC" brings value down....

Just need some help!
Ethan.

In order to give any reasonable answer one would need to know what the grip strap marking was. If you post it be sure to include all letters, numbers and PUNCTUATION.

Hi Ethan,

Welcome to the forum. $750 isn't bad, and about average for a Russian capture Luger. The markings on the grip would be unit markings. Possibly where they got the "Berlin Police". The grips are Russian replacements.

What are the markings on the grip strap? Berlin Police markings would be something like S.B.(Schutzpolizei Berlin), with possibly a roman numeral and a rack or inventory number.

Ethan,

When you copy down the markings, be sure to include any characters that may have be crossed or lined out.
