Okay, try to figure this one ...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I'm kinda on hiatus, until business blows over the Christmas season. Moving into a 3000 sq.foot warehouse full of guns next week also. FFL 01 coming too. But, anyways, I ran across this picture this poster... I guess Luger's are still hip and cool with the youth!

I'm hosting the pic on my server, so that won't give you ANY clues to it. Heck, I'm not even sure what it is exactly either...

GÃ?Â¶ring's Krieghoff was Platnium - not gold:-) There is a gold Presentation in a private collection, but the grip pattern in incorrect for that piece in this replica... Still very nice, though - it look like they even copied the KRIEGHOFF Sideframe inscription..!

I honestly don't know what the poster is suppose to be promoting. I think they made some of them (japanese company), but may not be importable. I will check on it.

But, can you all figure the rest of the poster out?

CODE: Veronica / Biohazard is a computer game series for the Dreamcast game station platform. The current CODE: Veronica game episode is Resident Evil; maybe Ashford Gold Luger is the upcoming edition?

You will come to think (like I do) that these are not real lugers, but replicas...

The sideplate looks too high and the safety lever is too long and thin...

I don't see a lanyard loop either. The tail of the rear toggle doesn't seem to be shaped properly as well...

Side Inscription Krieghoff are found in P2-P878 Range, this Luger would be a PXXXX range which is out of range, serial placement doesnt look correct either for a Commercial Krieg and by golly where is that inside the toggle knob bevel? Barrel almost looks short enough to be a 1920 Commercial! Thor

Actually - Krieghoff did do reworks of 1920 DWM commercials - that were typically stamped on the back of the frame... Anyway - take a good close look at the sideframe inscription - notice anything strange.??!!!

It appears that the HK inscription stamp is in a very vertical font instead of slanted or italicized as in the inset photo (sorry that photo is not as clear) and also the spacing on the "SUHL" is too close together...

Look at the "W" in both inscriptions... Now, look at the shape of the two small "f"s in Krieghoff. I can't really see the "a" formation and some of the other small letters - but my guess is that isn't factory work (stamped), but pretty good attempt to mimic the factory sideplate markings.

Well, the grips are downright pretty! I do have to wonder about the magazine, though. It appears to have a wooden bottom and a pin through it. Anyone ever see a wooden mag bottom with a pin through the middle of it? (G.T. this is your specialty). What does the pin attach to? How does it hold the magazine bottom in place? I have seen this on WWII flat bottom FXO mags but not on the wooden bottom type.
