Default 1917/1920 Erfurt Reichswehr

Hi fellas. I can't thank you all enough for helping me find the right Luger! I was looking for an inexpensive yet correct Erfurt. Several members wrote me and gave me leads, all of them great! I finally decided on this one that Ron had so graciously found and turned-over to me due to its great condition and low price. I'm sure you all know what it is to look at it, so I won't bore you with narrative. It is all matched, the bore is fair to good with no corrosion, just well worn. The mag was Erfurt military but sanded smooth. In the right light I can make out the serial and marks in the wood. Thanks agan everyone! By the way, it shoots fine!

Dave

It has a very nice Reichswehr Army unit mark, issed to the 4th Infrantry regiment on the grip strap, as well as a Weimar 1920 property stamp on the chamber. Nice pick up.

Joe,

Actually, the unit mark is for the 4th Company/ Infantry Regiment 19 weapon #1. Reichswehr units are reversed, in a manner, compared to Imperial units.

Dave,

I'm glad that you got it. It's a nice Luger with a good history. And at a very good price. How did the holster turn out?

Thanks for the comments, fellas. I appreciate them. This is currently my only Luger and I wanted a correct one that I would not be afraid to shoot. It's great!

The holster is fine, Ron, and I'm keeping it. Looks just fine and very usable, but it doesn't photogragh very well. Someone had tape in a few locations on the front flap and it removed some of the shiney finshed leather, (it's a little rough in those spots now). So, I like it for what I paid for it, but it's not a looker in a camera! (kinda like me!!)

Thanks guys! Dave

Dave,

Too bad that the holster had tape on it. Jerry Burney might have a magic solution to the problem.

He does have potions made from Cat Bones and Chicken Lips that he uses with incantations during a full moon. Or so I am told...
