Default 1917 Luger questions Newbee

I'm new here. I just took possesion of my grandfather's Luger. It has 1917 on top of barrel and also on top of gun it has what appears to be a crown and underneath the crown ERFURT. On the left side where the barrel connects to frame the numbers 8222. Is this a potentially valuable gun? Is there a manual on it? I'd like to disassemble it to clean it. I believe it's a 9mm, is this correct. In short any info you can give me would be appreciated or just point me in the right direction. I've done some searching but I not quite sure which direction to search. From intial inspection, it appears to have matching parts. Thank you for any help you can provide. I'm not even an amateur when it comes to guns so please keep it simple.
