Steve, same process with Jan's forum, if someone has a email account they can get onto the forum; we were doing it manually for years (approving folks), was spending literally hours a week just looking at their profile before approval. We decided that it is much easier to let folks "self approve" and then delete as they post something "inappropriate".

Steve, we ban them as fast as we find them, and try to prempt their posting privileges, but apparently John D is out of touch at the moment, so our response is sort of limited until he checks in...

That's cool, I just thought it odd that (at least) two of the three birthdays were spammers. I hope I helped by pointing them out to the least 'moderate' moderators out there!
